I’m excited to share a little animation I recently finished and uploaded to YouTube, featuring Benjy, one of the characters from my webcomic Benjy and Friends!

Most cat owners have been there. Your adorable cat rolls over and exposes their irresistibly floofy belly. You know you shouldn’t touch it. Your mind screams, “It’s a trap!” yet you go for it anyway, resulting in scratches and tears. Worth it!
This was my first attempt at a longer 2D animation, along with sound (free to use from Pixabay). Benjy and Friends has always been about small, everyday pet moments, the kind that cat and dog owners instantly recognize, and animation feels like a natural extension of that world. It’s such a fun way to tell little stories without words, and my love for 2D animation grows with every project I finish.
If you enjoyed it, a like or comment goes a long way in helping me keep creating more! And if you’re an animator yourself, I’d love to hear what 2D techniques you’ve been exploring lately.
